I am shocked stupid! I woke up this morning to a phone call, my headphones were wrapped around my iPhone and I was half asleep. I missed that phone call. No voice mail. It was my friend Kyla. Called her back but she didn't answer so I plopped right back into bed because it's cold and checked my e-mail.

Read stuff about Hylke the Friesian. Read some stuff about some horses in need a few hours south of me and then checked dA. I have a little dA app on my iPhone and up at he corner it tells me a total number count of "comments/activity" and that number was over 700! I blinked the sleep out of my eyes since not even eight hours ago I was puttering around on here uploading other horse photos.

Much to my utter delight I got a DD! With one of my favorite photos of Keegan! This picture was taken during Keegan's very first liberty photo shoot with me.

I think one of my favorite parts about this photo is the fact that it too is a "photoshop" and my first photoshop at that! My first real one. In October 08 Keegan was just learning how to bow. He had the basics but needed a small hand to remind him to keep the bow for a few seconds instead of jumping right back up.

Within a week he knew the squeeze on the withers meant bow, and that's what Emily is doing here in this photo.



Months later I actually thought to remove her from that photo and submit it here!


Most people don't even know she's in that photo to begin with. Emily herself was amazed!


Of course NOW, Keegan the big shot is bowing under saddle with a light squeeze of the withers in the right place and holding it till he's is asked to stand back up.

If you're ever in the Chicago area Keegan is currently performing at The Noble Horse Theater as part of the cast. Right now they are doing The Nutcracker on horseback and it's just WAY too cute. He is up there doing his part and earning his keep while his trainer Agnes schools him for greater things.

That's the farm Keegan is from, and will be back at in April. His loving owner Emily misses him dearly and he is my muse! I miss him too! He's like my little brother.
